Catholic Communications Campaign

January 28-19, 2017

NORTHWEST CATHOLIC is the official publication of the Archdiocese of Seattle, mailed 10 times each year to every registered Catholic household in Western Washington. Its mission is to promote the new evangelization and form disciples by proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ. A percentage of this collection goes to the CCC, which promotes evangelization by supporting communications through television, radio, internet, and other media, and through special projects of the Catholic press.

CRS Rice Bowl Lenten Program

Lent: March 1 - April 15, 2017

This Lenten program has a fundraising component to it, along with resources for prayer, fasting and learning. 75% of donations fund Catholic Relief Services’ agriculture, health and educational projects overseas. 25% is distributed as grants in Western Washington for local anti-hunger projects.

Catholic Home Missions Collection

March 4-5, 2017

In the Archdiocese of Seattle, this collection supports two major entities; Catholic Home Missions grants, which provide funds for U.S. dioceses and territories that lack the resources to provide basic pastoral ministry to their populations - and Black and Indian Mission grants, which support and strengthen evangelization programs and help to build the Church among the African American, Native American and Alaska Native people of God.

Catholic Relief Services Collection

March 25-26, 2017

Mandated by the USCCB, providing for Catholic Relief Services; USCCB's Dept. of Justice, Peace and Human Development; the Holy Father's relief fund; CLINIC; and USCCB's Migration and Refugee Services.

Holy Land Good Friday Envelope Offering

This Pontifical collection is for the support of the Holy Places, but above all for those pastoral, charitable, educational and social works which the Church supports in the Holy Land for the welfare of their Christian brethren and of the local communities.

Peter's Pence Collection

June 24-25, 2017

Peter's Pence collection allows local Catholics to join the works of the Holy Father in helping to relieve the suffering of the world's most vulnerable; victims of war, oppression, and natural disasters.

Trinity Dome Collection
(Basilica of Immaculate Conception National Shrine)

One-Time Collection
August 12-13, 2017

The Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception is the nation’s preeminent Marian shrine, and is oftentimes affectionately referred to as ‘America’s Catholic Church.’ Open 365 days a year, the Basilica is host to nearly one million visitors annually, attracting pilgrims and tourists alike from across the country and around the world. Proceeds from this one-time collection will assist with the completion of the central and final dome in mosaic, The Holy Trinity.

Catholic Campaign for Human Development

September 16-17, 2017

Catholic Campaign for Human Development addresses the root causes of poverty in America through promotion and support of community-controlled, self-help organizations and transformative education. National grants are awarded by the U.S. bishops’ Subcommittee on CCHD with the approval of local bishops. Local, smaller, grants are awarded by the Archbishop.

World Mission Sunday

October 21-22, 2017

Mission Sunday is celebrated the world over. In this Archdiocese we combine other U.S. mandated collections with World Mission Sunday, sharing gifts on a percentage basis with: Church in Latin America; Central and Eastern Europe; Catholic Near East Welfare Association and Pastoral Solidarity Fund for the Church in Africa.
