Annual Safe Environment Training for students in grades K-12:

Please read the linked announcement concerning the archdiocesan requirement to offer annual Safe Environment Training to all parish faith formation students in grades K-12.  As you may have seen in our recent parish bulletins, this lesson will be offered at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish during the regularly scheduled faith formation period on Sunday, October 8, 2017.

Additional background concerning this curriculum may be found in the linked "Teaching Boundaries and Safety Guide" provided by the Archdiocese of Seattle.  The focus of this brief sexual abuse prevention lesson is on helping children to identify appropriate personal boundaries and the adults they know they can turn to if someone tries to harm them.

Parents and guardians have the right to opt out of this lesson on behalf of their child(ren) by completing the linked "Opt Out" form and returning it to the parish office or your child's catechist by Sunday, Oct. 8.

This information was also emailed to the parents of all families registered in our faith formation classes.  Please let me know if you have any questions after reviewing the linked documents:  Ted Meany (; 360-834-2126, ext. 215).

Our parish faith formation focus this year will be on the Domestic Church. Stay tuned for more information and suggestions for how to consciously develop an awareness of this key Catholic idea in your home this year.

Additional assistant catechists are still needed in
Middle School & High School

We can use your love of The Faith in the classroom this year as a  catechist in our faith formation program on Sunday mornings.

We have many returning catechists to show you the ropes.  You can also volunteer as an assistant or as an occasional substitute, both of which are very helpful as well.  More details online or contact Ted Meany for more information at or 360-834-2126, ext. 215.
